BEDA prep

So I'm going to be a part of BEDA (Blog Every Day in April). It's going to be very hard. But I'm prepping myself by doing all of my homework for the week TONIGHT! So I'll have time to blog every day in April.

A Little Bit of Southern Comfort.

Not exactly what I meant. But just as nice.

By south, I mean, like, South. Southern America. Like, Mexico. Which is where I'm going for spring break. I don't know how I feel about this plan just yet. But I'll have to suck it up because it looks like I don't have a choice. Can I bring some of my own southern comfort (^ that stuff) to deal with it?

It's Really Quite Hard

To differentiate between who I am, who I was, and who I want to be. People who know me really well know there's some definitive properties or phases of my life in the past few years to recognize different time periods, but I still can't quite feel like I'm moving forward. I guess when I go off to college and fail miserably, I'll see a difference.

The Eagle.

There are two forms of Caitlin:

Caitlin 1: The happy Caitlin who loves the world and everyone in it.

and

Caitlin 2: The Caitlin who finds reason to hate anything she may have loved two seconds ago.

The best way to differentiate between the two Caitlins is to determine the focus of whatever the subject may be, and figure out if she got what she wanted or not.

Like, today. Apparently the President of the United States came to Orange County today. I had heard about it yesterday and really wanted a ticket to go to the presentation. But because I had school (which was, by the way, completely pointless, seeing as we had CAHSEE testing today so I had nothing to do), I couldn't go.

Therefore, rather than being super excited about the Eagle coming to town, I griped all day about how horrible traffic would be after school.

I obviously don't have the mental capacity to handle these miniscule details of the planet.

Shake Yer Money Makers

Gosh, I love making lists. It's just my thing. I'm super anal about lists: 1. Notebooks. I have a thing for notebooks. I need a drawer in my house that is ALWAYS STOCKED full of blank notebooks, because I create notebooks for different things. And I never seem to have enough notebooks. I have Notebooks of Dreams, and Notebooks of Lists, and Notebooks of Rants, and so on and so forth. 2. Australia. I'm saving for a trip to Australia to visit all the friends I have there. Plus Australia has been my dream since I was little. I have a bit of an obsession. When I grow up, I want to be a Welsh Australian. More specifically, with a Welsh accent, and my Welsh boyfriend..namely, GDL, living in Australia. It's quite a concoction of hot accents. Eventually I'd like to study abroad in both Australia and England for my college thesis, which I've already started on. 3. Car. I definitely need to start saving for a car. End. 4. The Trip. This summer, several friends and I have been planning for a California road trip this summer. It'll be quite expensive so I need to start saving now. 5. A Doctor Who and Torchwood dvd collection. This may take years. 6. Is there any way I can buy myself into being GDL's mate? Creepy.

The Pattern.

Haha, sorry. Test. See, I've just noticed that when I type, my computer makes this weird beep. It's kind of subsided, it's very faint, under the keys and somewhere in the hardware. Anyway.

The pattern. I bought a pattern today, for a female Captain Jack Harkness coat. And I have no idea what the hell the thing says, but I guess I'll figure it out on Friday, when Allison and I go to LA for fabrics.

Another thing about patterns is I've noticed...oh wait. The beeping is a lower tone now. Anyway. Patterns. Everything is in one big pattern. I snack in patterns. I get up in different times in patterns. Even my grades go in patterns. It's interesting.

Another tangent, I've finally seen every episode of Torchwood completely through. Now I'm just waiting for Children of Earth. I miss Tosh and Owen already.

And again, I'm just going to go over my plans for the week: School school school. Friday, I have LA with Allison. We're going fabric shopping, but I posed the idea of doing something else. I mean, it's LA, there's other stuff to do. So if anyone has any ideas, shoot. Saturday, shopping for Ally and Risa's presents, schoolwork, and then Risa's party. Sunday through to Monday, I'm visiting Chico campus. Hopefully I'll decide then that that's where I'd like to go. I'm quite sure but I still haven't heard back from Chapman yet. So we'll have to see on that front.

Basically this entry is going to be all one big update since I haven't written anything in so long.

Allison is sewing. Here's another thing to add to my goals list: I want to get really good at sewing. Like I wish I could just come and buy fabric and make a dress or whatever. But I totally don't have the means. That's just one more investment to add to my list of investments. Which I will be posting soon.

Posting a Blog

Allison says I should post more. She's right.

Yesterday I totally geeked out. I was at Barnes and Noble, and I was purchasing a Torchwood book and a new issue of Doctor Who magazine. I was wearing my Daleks exterminate shirt. I got the best smirk from the girl behind the counter.

And I've accepted that I'm a nerd. But the thing is about nerdiness, is you can't ever be just a nerd. You can delve into the ocean of different types of nerdiness, and it just never ends.

There's obsession nerds, who go crazy over something for a month and then move on. (Me)

There's the life-nerds, who are dedicated to one thing forever and ever. (Lindsey)

There's your everything nerds, who know everything about everything you ever wanted to know...and a few things you'd rather have not known. (Allison)

There's the tech nerds, who can make a hovercraft out of a light board and a bottle of mouthwash. (Daphne) --note to self: find a way to have Daphne do this.

The possibilities of nerdiness are endless. I've just recently begun accepting myself as a nerd. But the reality is, you can't be all that individual in a world of so many different nerds. There's a huge spectrum, and it goes on and on and on. Kind of like Jack Harkness' life. *nerdgasm*

4. I always carry a pen and something to write on.
5. My bag is my canvas.
6. I'm more accessible via email than I am my phone.
